Castlehackett
Hackets Castle, close to Tuam, was home of the Hackett family
at first; later of the Kirwans after the Cromwellian
settlement.

Castle is in the barony of Clare, five miles south of Tuam,
which the O'Connors made the capital of Ireland in the 13th
century.

St Marys Cathedral -
The 14th century Church of Ireland Cathedral
was built to the east of the original Cathedral which used
the Sanctuary and Chancel of the 12th century Cathedral as
the entrance.
